Tue May 12 2015 · From within a program I create a calendar format information (an ics file) and send it to email recipients. This has been working very well with Outlook 2003 clients but Outlook 2007 clients are having problem. They get it as an attachment with the title: not supported calendar message.ics. Is there a solution to this such as a SP or hotfix?

The conversion fails if one or more of the following conditions are true: The meeting contains a recurrence pattern that is available to a third-party email client such as Lotus Notes.
Mon May 16 2011 · It would seem that on calendar multiple updates that you receive the attachment of " not supported calendar message.ics". I have looked at many that have processed fine and compared them with ones that dont work. I have found that if "RECURRENCE-ID:{timecode here}" is missing from the .ics file it will show as not supported .
Today I received a Meeting Invitation that was received as a normal message but contained the following attachments; not supported calendar message.ics ATT00001.htm c120414.ics The ATT00001.htm attachment contained the same textual content as the meeting message but trying to open either ics-file resulted in the error; The operation failed.
